Storylines

This is a clean NFC West marker early in the regular season: the 49ers come in unbeaten and first in the division, while the Seahawks sit right behind them at 3-1. Seattle is also carrying the reigning champion label after winning Super Bowl LX 29-13, which makes this home date feel like a measuring point for both fan bases.

AP frames it as the 49ers’ first trip to face Seattle since last season’s playoff loss. ESPN has leaned into the matchup, with Daniel Jeremiah saying 49ers-Seahawks is going to be a “war,” and another ESPN headline asking whether Seattle’s defense can again quiet San Francisco’s hot offense Sunday.

What fans are wearing

For 49ers fans, this is the kind of road divisional game where a Christian McCaffrey #23 Youth Jersey (4-18), 49ers Crewneck Sweatshirt — Scarlet, or 49ers New Era 9FIFTY Snapback fits the day. Seahawks fans can keep it home and seasonal with a Seahawks Crewneck Sweatshirt, Hallmark Seahawks Bouncing Buddy Christmas Ornament, or Seahawks Santa Fan Ornament.
