Storylines

Both teams come into this one trying to turn the page after losses on Sun, Oct 4. Detroit’s last game was a L 26-32 at Carolina Panthers, while Arizona’s last game was a L 24-36 at New York Giants. With the Lions visiting the desert and the Cardinals back at State Farm Stadium, this is a straightforward late-window matchup for fans setting up a full Sunday afternoon.

AP framed the week around the Lions and Cardinals both trying to shake early season problems when they meet in the desert. ESPN also reports that Drew Petzing brings Cardinals familiarity into the Lions matchup, while separate ESPN headlines point to Cardinals and Lions-adjacent questions around Marvin Harrison Jr., Jacoby Brissett, and Sam LaPorta. Taken together, the outside coverage gives this game a little extra pregame chatter without changing the simple setup: two NFC teams, one Fox window, and a Sunday in Glendale.
